A large housing development is being proposed for our neighborhood.
Over the last few years, Western Boulevard Investments of Raleigh has purchased six parcels in the northwest corner of the Lorimer Road and Garland Drive intersection.
The company is proposing to sell this tract to a developer who plans to build a 60-unit housing development. The development is described as both a 55+ community and an affordable housing development for people whose income is at or below 60% of the median income level in this area.
We support Raleigh’s effort to provide more affordable housing, but a development of this size is much too large to be built in our neighborhood. This website details our concerns about the project.
